Streaming is therapeutic for me

Streaming video games has become a bit of a getaway for me as of late. I used to laugh and wonder why this was a thing before. Then I moved out on my own and had more ability to play games. I got into streaming for some close friends, enjoying having them either play along or just have them in a chat, on a group call, or some way I can talk with them.

Then my dad passed back in January and I was simply too exhausted to do continue on, physically or mentally. I didn’t want to put myself out there for a while, didn’t want to feel vulnerable. But that wasn’t helping. I got back into streaming within the last few weeks and have been making more and more of an effort.

Why? It’s therapeutic.

I’ve found games that I enjoy, found people that I enjoy playing games with. Gaming is now a hobby that I truly enjoy, enjoy getting away from it all, regardless of the universe it’s in. Simply put, it’s a thing that makes me laugh and that is really needed at this time. I’ve often had hobbies where I try it out and then drop it after a certain amount of time, usually losing interest, falling behind, and just dropping it. This just feels different, though.

I’m not the best gamer or entertainer but dammit, I’m enjoying it.

So, I’m a Twitch streamer for now.

If you’re interested, I’m at I don’t quite have a set schedule but my videos are archived and people are making clips. It’s also not safe for work because there’s a lot of swearing. ¯\_(ツ)_/¯

P.S., before you ask, the username is a Star Wars reference.
